## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON SUNDAY, JUNE 8, 1997, AT 1939 EDT, A SAAB SF340, N743BA, OPERATED BY BUSINESS EXPRESS, DURING DESCENT EXPERIENCED UNSAFE NOSE GEAR INDICATIONS. PILOT RECYCLED THE LANDING GEAR TWICE. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED ON RUNWAY 4 AND TAXIED TO THE RAMP WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. AIRPORT FIRE AND RESCUE RESPONDED. THE AIRCRAFT WAS DEFERRED AND FERRIED TO ALBANY, NY FOR REPAIRS. MECHANICS FOUND THE NOSE GEAR RETRACTION DOWN MICROSWITCH INOPERATIVE. THE SWITCH WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED. AN OPERATIONAL CHECK WAS SATISFACTORY AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE. THIS INCIDENT IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
