## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: TRANSTATE AIRLINES, INC., FLIGHT 7066 DEPARTED JLN ENROUTE TO STL 06/16/97. DURING FLIGHT, THE RIGHT ENGINE DUCT CAP LIGHT ILLUMINATED. ATC WAS ADVISED OF THE CONDITION AND CLEARED THE AIRCRAFT FOR AN UNSCHEDULED LANDING AT COU. A FERRY PERMIT WAS ISSUED BY RAIA AUTHORIZING A ONE TIME FLIGHT FROM COU TO STL. UPON ARRIVAL AT STL, MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL EXAMINED THE RIGHT ENGINE DC CONTROL UNIT AND DISCOVERED IT INOPERATIVE. AFTER REPLACING THE UNIT, A NORMAL OPERATIONAL CHECK WAS CONDUCTED AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS RELEASED BACK TO SERVICE WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. THIS INCIDENT (CE97ICM0086) IS CONSIDERED CLOSED WITH THE SUBMITTAL OF THIS REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
