## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON JUNE 16, 1997, AT APPROXIMATELY 1215 LOCAL TIME, A CESSNA T210-M, N6994B, PILOTED BY NORMAN G. THIEL, LANDED WITH THE GEAR RETRACTED. THE PILOT REPORTED THAT THERE WAS A LOT OF AIR TRAFFIC IN THE AREA. MR. THIEL WAS PERFORMING TOUCH AND GO LANDINGS AND WAS DISTRACTED WHILE WATCHING OUT FOR OTHER AIRCRAFT. HE GOT OUT OF SEQUENCE ON HIS APPROACH AND FAILED TO PUT THE LANDING GEAR DOWN. AS SOON AS MR. THIEL HEARD THE PROPELLER HIT THE GROUND, HE SHUT OFF THE FUEL AND IGNITION SWITCHES. THE AIRCRAFT WAS LANDED ON ITS BELLY AND SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE. THERE WAS NO PILOT DEVIATION. THIS REPORT IS CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
