## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON JUNE 20, 1997, AT 1045 MDT A BEECHCRAFT V-35A, N7104N, OWNED AND OPERATED BY MR. JIM GOBER, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ LANDED AT FARMINGTON, NEW MEXICO WITH THE LANDING GEAR IN THE RETRACTED POSITION DURING A PLEASURE FLIGHT. A FLIGHT PLAN WAS NOT FILED AND VMC CONDITIONS PREVAILED. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED MINOR DAMAGE AND THE PRIVATE PILOT WAS UNINJURED. THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED IN FARMINGTON AT APPROXIMATELY 1000 MDT. AIRMAN STATED HE PERFORMED A "GUMPS" CHECK PRIOR TO LANDING AT THE AIRPORT AND MAY HAVE TOUCHED THE LANDING GEAR SELECTOR WITHOUT ACTUATING THE CONTROL. THE PILOT WAS WEARING HEADSETS AT THE TIME AND FAILED TO HEAR THE LANDING GEAR WARNING HORN PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN. THE PILOT HAS OWNED AND OPERATED THIS AIRCRAFT FOR THE LAST 22 YEARS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
