(-23) THE PILOT WAS MAKING A FULL STOP LANDING ON RUNWAY 26. DURING THE LANDING ROLL, THE AIRCRAFT GROUND LOOPED. THE RIGHT WING, RIGHT AILERON, THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR, AND THE PROPELLER WERE DAMAGED. THE WIND WAS REPORTED TO BE FROM 090 DEGREES AT 10 KTS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB FTW97LA259](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/FTW97LA259), Jul 3, 1997: Luscombe 8A (N71381), Seminole, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate compensation for the existing wind conditions. A factor was the prevailing quartering tailwind.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
