## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: DURING CLIMB AFTER LIFT-OFF, 1/4 MILE DOWNWIND, A FIRE DEVELOPED, 6 TO 8 INCH FLAMES LOCATED OUTSIDE OF THE BURNER, WHERE THE FITTING JOINS THE OUTSIDE OF THE BURNER. MR. FEAR SHUT OFF THE TANK, LET THE PROPANE BLEED FROM THE BURNER AND VISUALLY INSPECTED IT FOR DAMAGE, I.E. CRACKS ETC., HE SAW NOTHING. RETIGHTENED ALL FITTINGS AGAIN THEN REPRESSURIZED THE SYSTEM AND RELIT BURNER. FIRE DID NOT OCCUR. THE BURNER OPERATED NORMALLY. THE INSTRUCTOR PILOT LANDED THE BALLOON AS SOON AS PRACTICAL, DURING A CONTROLLED DESCENT AND LANDING WITHOUT DAMAGE OR INJURY. THIS INVESTIGATION CLOSED, NO ACTION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
