## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON FRIDAY, JULY 25, 1997, MR. CARTER M. TAYLOR WAS FLYING FROM PIERRE, SOUTH DAKOTA, TO CUSTER STATE PARK AIRPORT. WHILE TRACKING OUTBOUND ON THE 215 DEGREES RADIAL FROM THE RAPID CITY VOR, MR. TAYLOR LANDED A CE-150 SAFELY ON AN UNCHARTERED MINIATURE MODEL AIRPLANE STRIP. THERE WERE NO IDENTIFIABLE MARKINGS ON THE LANDING STRIP AND CUSTER STATE PARK AIRPORT IS ON THE SAME RADIAL. THIS WAS A SOLO X-C FLIGHT FOR THE STUDENT. MR. TAYLOR FILLED OUT A NASA FORM AND WAS COUNSELED BY A FAA SAFETY COUNSELOR ON THE MATTER.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
