## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

EXPERIMENTAL ROTOCRAFT HOVERED INTO CROPS DURING AERIAL FIELD SURVEY AND EXPERIENCED DYNAMIC ROLLOVER. (-23) WHILE PILOT WAS SURVEYING CROPS IN A HOVER CONFIGURATION, HE STATED THAT HE MOMENTARILY LOOKED AT THE GAGES. WHILE HIS ATTENTION WAS DIVERTED, HE ALLOWED THE AIRCRAFT LANDING SKID TO CONTACT THE CROPS CAUSING A DYNAMIC ROLLOVER. NO INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB FTW97LA300](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/FTW97LA300), Aug 1, 1997: Poor Boys Toys Exec 90 (N596PB), Patricia, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The failure of the pilot to maintain terrain clearance with the crops during a surveying flight. A factor was the pilots diverted attention.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
