## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) A PARACHUTE JUMPER RECEIVED CRITICAL INJURIES ON AUGUST 1, 1997, AT APPROXIMATELY 1612 CDT, AFTER MAKING A TURN AT TOO LOW AN ALTITUDE AND IMPACTING AGAINST AN EMBANKMENT. THE JUMPER DIED DURING SURGERY THE MORNING OF AUGUST 2, 1997, AS A RESULT OF HIS INJURIES. THE JUMPER'S MAIN PARACHUTE WAS FULLY DEPLOYED AND STEERABLE. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED WITH THIS REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
