## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: IMMEDIATELY AFTER T.O. THE ENGINE QUIT DUE TO FUEL STARVATION. THE PILOT REPORTED HE INADVERTENTLY BUMPED THE FUEL SELECTOR VALVE WITH HIS KNEE AND MOVED IT OUT OF THE DETENT. PILOT STATED HE WAS AWARE OF THE REASON THE ENGINE QUIT. BUT WAS TOO LOW TO RE-START THE ENGINE AND LANDED IN A FIELD. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE. PILOT WAS COUNCELED. NTSB AND KIT MANUFACTURER ARE AWARE OF PROBLEM.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
