## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: WHILE CLIMBING THROUGH 2000 FEET MSL, THE ENGINE STARTED LOSING POWER. OPERATION WAS SMOOTH BUT WOULD NOT HOLD ALTITUDE. THROTTLE AND MIXTURE CONTROLS WERE CHECKED WITHOUT RESULTS. AN UNEVENTFUL EMERGENCY LANDING WAS MADE. MAINTENANCE INVESTIGATION REVEALED #2 CYLINDER INTAKE VALVE SEAT HAD A LARGE AMOUNT OF CARBON BUILD UP PREVENTING THE VALVE FACE FROM SEATING. SUBMISSION OF THIS REPORT COMPLETES THIS INVESTIGATION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
