## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: PILOT ALDEN WAS RECEIVING AN ANNUAL FLIGHT REVIEW AS REQUIRED BY THE PONDEROSA AERO CLUB FROM INSTRUCTOR BOWER. AFTER A TAKEOFF FROM BOISE'S GOWEN FIELD, THE BOISE ATCT REPORTED SEEING SOMETHING ABNORMAL ON THE LEFT LANDING GEAR. UPON LANDING, THE LEFT WHEEL LOCKED UP RESULTING IN THE AIRCRAFT HAVING TO BE TOWED FROM THE RUNWAY. INVESTIGATION REVEALED THE BACKING PLATE ON THE WHEEL PAN HAD FRACTURED THEREBY PUNCTURING THE SIDEWALL OF THE TIRE. NO OTHER DAMAGE WAS DISCOVERED. INSP. DOMINGO IS CHECKING THE RECORDS FOR THE LAST MAINTENANCE PERFORMED ON THE LEFT GEAR TO DETERMINE IF A CRACK HAD BEEN PREVIOUSLY OBSERVED IN THE BACKING PLATE. A MRD WILL BE FILED. THIS IS A FINAL REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
