## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON AUGUST 22, 1997, A SKYDIVER WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED IN A PARACHUTING ACCIDENT AT MARSHALL, MI. THE SKYDIVER, JEFFRY B. KLAN IS AN EXPERIENCED JUMPER WITH OVER 400 JUMPS. HE WAS USING A MICRO RAVEN 150 MAIN CHUTE WHICH WAS PACKED ON THE SAME DAY OF THE INCIDENT AND A VIPER, 120 EMERGENCY PARACHUTE S/N00528003 WHICH WAS LAST PACKED ON 6/24/97.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
