## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: CAPT. JAMES DEPARTED OMA FOR 4V9 AT 0715 CDT. AT THAT TIME, THE WINDS FOR 4V9 WERE SOUTHEAST AT ABOUT 8-10 KTS. AND FORECASTED TO REMAIN THE SAME. ARRIVING AT 4V9, CAPT. JAMES CHECKED THE WIND SOCK. IT SHOWED A LIGHT WIND FROM THE SOUTHEAST. THE OVERCAST CEILING WAS AT 4,500 MSL. AFTER BROADCASTING ON 122.9 FOR TRAFFIC AND HIS INTENTIONS, HE ENTERED A LEFT DOWN WIND FOR RUNWAY 15. THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF WATER ON THE RUNWAY AT THE TIME CAPTAIN JAMES ENTERED DOWN WIND. THE RUNWAY HAD RECENTLY BEEN RESURFACED AND SEALED WITH A WATER REPELLENT. ADDITIONALLY, THE RUNWAY DESIGN LEFT LITTLE CURVATURE FOR WATER DRAINAGE. ON SHORT FINAL, HE NOTICED HE HAD A SLIGHT QUARTERING TAIL WIND. NOT UNTIL AFTER A NORMAL APPROACH AND TOUCHDOWN IN THE FIRST 500 FEET OF RUNWAY DID HE NOTICE THE WET RUNWAY. HE ATTEMPTED TO APPLY BRAKES WITH NO EFFECT. TOO LATE DID HE NOTICE HE HAD TOO LITTLE RUNWAY REMAINING TO AFFECT A GO-AROUND. HE SLID OFF THE END OF THE RUNWAY, TURNING THE AIRPLANE TO AVOID GOING INTO A DITCH STRAIGHT AHEAD, HIT A FENCE POST WITH THE LEFT WING AND STOPPED IN THE MUD OFF THE RUNWAY. HE GOT THE PASSENGERS OUT OF THE AIRCRAFT, SECURED THE SCENE, AND CALLED THE COMPANY DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS TO REPORT THE INCIDENT. THIS INCIDENT IS CONSIDERED CLOSED WITH THIS REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
