## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: PILOT'S STATEMENT, LAKE CHARLES INCIDENT: PILOT WAS INFORMED THAT WEATHER WAS 11/2 MILES VISIBILITY, 900 OVERCAST WITH HEAVY RAIN. PILOT CHECKED RADAR AND DID NOT THINK THAT FLIGHT CONDITIONS WOULD BE A FACTOR IN THE APPROACH. CONTINUED WITH A STABILIZED APPROACH, BUT LANDED LONG. DUE TO WATER ON THE RUNWAY AS WELL AS LENGTH OF THE RUNWAY DID NOT IMMEDIATELY APPLY BRAKES. WHEN BRAKES AS WELL AS REVERSE THRUST WERE APPLIED, AIRCRAFT STARTED TO HYDROPLANE AND VEERED OFF THE RUNWAY. CONTROLLER'S STATEMENT; LAKE CHARLES INCIDENT: INCIDENT OCCURRED AT 0630, AFTER THE FIELD HAD JUST OPENED, AND AIRCRAFT WAS FIRST TO LAND. THERE WAS STANDING WATER ON THE RUNWAY DUE TO HEAVY RAINSHOWERS WHICH WAS STILL IN PROGRESS. AIRCRAFT WAS LOST FROM SIGHT DUE TO HEAVY RAIN. PILOT CALLED TOWER TO INDICATE THAT SHE HAD EXITED OFF THE RUNWAY INTO THE GRASS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
