## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

- [NTSB ATL97LA140](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ATL97LA140), Sep 25, 1997: Cessna 172N (N738SZ), Greenville, SC, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot's improper use of the elevator control and delayed liftoff during takeoff, which resulted in an inadvertent porpoise, collision with the runway, and collapse of the nose gear as he aborted…

## Other reports on N738SZ (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19880407017449I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19880407017449I), Apr 7, 1988: Cessna 172 (N738SZ), China Hill Ag, GA, Minor damage. Wind gust flipped aircraft over during taxi to the ramp. Wind gust reported up to 40 knots.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
