GROB 103 GLIDER PORPOISED ON LANDING, CADDOMILLS, TX (-23) ON OCTOBER 13, 1997, MR. CHRISTOPER D LOUDAN, RENTED A GLIDER, GROB 103 TWIN II, SERIAL NUMBER L315, N921G, FROM SOUTHWEST SOARING, INC. AT CADDO MILLS AIRPORT, CADDO MILLS, TEXAS. AFTER A FLIGHT OF ABOUT 20 MINUTES, THE GLIDER RETURNED TO THE AIRPORT AND MADE A HARD LANDING. A WITNESS OBSERVED THE GLIDERS LANDING AND STATED THAT THE FIRST TOUCHDOWN WAS HARD ENOUGH TO BOUNCE THE GLIDER BACK AIRBORNE SHARPLY AND A SECOND TOUCHDOWN FOLLOWED THAT AGAIN BOUNCED THE GLIDER BACK AIRBORNE. ON THE THIRD TOUCHDOWN THE GLIDER REMAINED ON THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT WAS OBSERVED GETTING OUT OF THE GLIDER AND INSPECTING IT AS THOUGH HE WAS DOING A PREFLIGHT INSPECTION. THE PILOT ASKED FOR ANOTHER TOW. AFTER THE SECOND FLIGHT WAS OVER THE PILOT RETURNED TO THE OFFICE AND THE NEXT PILOT AND HIS INSTRUCTOR, STARTED A PREFLIGHT INSPECTION OF THE GLIDER. DURING THE PREFLIGHT INSPECTION THE PILOT FOUND CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE TO THE GLIDER AND REPORTED IT TO MS. CAROL WALKER. SEE NARRATIVE #FTW98LA014.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
