## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-5)DURING CRUISE FLIGHT OVER THE GULF OF MEXICO, THE NO. 2 ENGINE FIRE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. AS THE PILOT APPROACHED THE PLATFORM, THE ENGINE STARTED TO BOG DOWN. THE PILOT DEPLOYED THE FLOATS AND SET THE AIRCRAFT INTO THE WATER. THE LIFE RAFT WAS DEPLOYED. THE AIRCRAFT LISTED TO THE RIGHT AND EVERYONE EXITED THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT EXITED THE AIRCRAFT THROUGH THE COPILOT'S SIDE AND JUMPED TO THE RAFT. DURING THE TOW, THE RIGHT FLOAT STARTED TO TEAR FREE FROM THE SKID AND THE AIRCRAFT ROCKED, ROLLED OVER ON ITS BACK, AND EVENTUALLY SANK.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
