## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON TAKEOFF THE FRONT WHEEL ASSEMBLY FELL OFF, CLEAR OF THE AIRCRAFT, JUST AS THE NOSE LIFTED OFF THE GROUND. A LANDING WAS ACCOMPLISHED WITH THE NOSE GEAR UP SO THAT THE GEAR LEG WOULDN'T BREAK OFF AND GO THROUGH THE PROP. LANDING WAS SLOW, THE NOSE WAS HELD OFF AS LONG AS POSSIBLE, AND THEN DROPPED TO THE GROUND. THE AIRCRAFT SKID ABOUT 50 FEET AND CAME TO A STOP ON THE RUNWAY WITH LITTLE DAMAGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
