## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: UPON RETURNING TO BEACH CITY AIRPORT, 2D7, BEACH CITY, OH, 44608, AT THE CONCLUSION OF A LOCAL PLEASURE FLIGHT, THE OWNER/PILOT ELECTED TO EXECUTE A SIMULATED ELECTRICAL POWER FAILURE EMERGENCY. HE SHUT OFF THE BATTERY MASTER SWITCH AND MANUALLY EXTENDED THE LANDING GEAR. HOWEVER, HE DID NOT TURN BACK ON THE BATTERY MASTER SWITCH TO VERIFY LANDING GEAR POSITION INDICATION. THIS INVESTIGATION INDICATES THAT THE LANDING GEAR WAS ONLY PARTIALLY EXTENDED WHEN THE AIRCRAFT LANDED. THE INBOARD MAIN GEAR DOORS WERE OPEN AND THE MAIN GEAR PARTIALLY EXTENDED. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED MINOR DAMAGE AND THE PILOT SUSTAINED NO INJURIES. AT THE TIME OF THIS INCIDENT, THE PILOT'S LAST MEDICAL EXAMINATION WAS FOR A THIRD CLASS MEDICAL CERTIFICATE ON 06/29/94. SUBSEQUENTLY, THE PILOT HAS OBTAINED A CURRENT THIRD CLASS MEDICAL CERTIFICATE ON 10/30/97. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
