## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: N5378C, A CESSNA 414, DEPARTED EPPLEY AIRFIELD, OMAHA, NEBRASKA EN-ROUTE TO AMES, IOWA. AFTER GEAR RETRACTION THE GEAR LIGHT WAS FLICKERING. THE PILOT RETURNED TO EPPLEY AIRFIELD AND ON APPROACH THE PILOT EXTENDED THE MAIN LANDING GEAR BUT HAD TO USE THE EMERGENCY SYSTEM FOR NOSE GEAR EXTENSION. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. MAINTENANCE DISCOVERED A LOOSE B NUT IN THE LEFT ENGINE FIREWALL AREA WHERE HYDRAULIC FLUID WAS LEAKING. WHAT CAUSED THE NUT TO LOOSEN COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED WITH THIS REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
