## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON 18 OCT. 1997 WITNESS STATED THAT A P-51 MUSTANG MADE A GEAR UP LANDING AT THE JEAN, NV AIRPORT (OL7). PILOT STATED THAT HE DID NOT KNOW IF THE GEAR HANDLE WAS IN THE DETENT POSITION OR NOT BEFORE LANDING. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION OF THE AIRCRAFT ON OCT 20TH THE AIRCRAFT WAS RESTING ON THE GEAR WITH MINOR DAMAGE. THIS REPORT IS CLOSED. PTRS#WP1998805637.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
