## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: THE PILOT WAS UNABLE TO LOWER LANDING ON APPROACH TO LAFAYETTE AIRPORT. NO INDICATION LIGHTS AND C.B. POPPED. THE PILOT MANUALLY EXTENDED GEAR AND MADE A PASS BY THE TOWER TO CONFIRM EXTENSION. THE TOWER REPLIED THAT THEY APPEARED TO BE DOWN. UPON LANDING, MAIN GEAR CONTACT WAS NORMAL. THE PILOT KEPT NOSE OFF AS LONG AS POSSIBLE. WHEN AIRCRAFT CAME DOWN ON THE NOSE, THE GEAR COLLAPSED, ALLOWING THE PROPELLER TO CONTACT THE GROUND. INVESTIGATION REVEALED LOSS OF NOSE STRUT PRESSURE AND BENT UP LOCK BRACKET. SCISSORS LINK ASSEMBLY WAS GROUND DOWN DUE TO GROUND CONTACT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
