## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 23, 1997, DURING A DESCENT ON A VISUAL APPROACH TO BUFFALO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT FROM 3500 FEET TO 2500 FEET, THE ENGINE RPM DROPPED TO 400. THE PILOT DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND CYCLED THE TANK SELECTOR, RESULTING IN REGAINING RPM. AN UNEVENTFUL LANDING WAS ACCOMPLISHED. MAINTENANCE FOUND THE AIRCRAFT PERFORMED NORMALLY ON THE GROUND. THE FUEL LOAD IN BUF WAS 17.3 GALLONS ON THE LEFT AND 15.0 GALLONS ON THE RIGHT WITH 18 GALLONS USEABLE IN EACH WING. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ THIS INCIDENT IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
