## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ENROUTE FROM STL TO MCI AT FLIGHT LEVEL 24,000 FEET THE FLIGHT CREW NOTED AN ABNORMAL VIBRATION THAT WAS DETERMINED TO BE COMING FROM #2 ENGINE. CHANGING POWER SETTINGS DID NOT ELIMINATE THE VIBRATION THEREFORE, THE CREW ELECTED TO SHUT THE ENGINE DOWN AS A PRECAUTION, THIS WAS ACCOMPLISHED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RYNA CHECK LIST. AN EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED AND THE FLIGHT LANDED AT MCI WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. RYNA MAINTENANCE DETERMINED THE VIBRATION WAS DUE TO AN INTERNAL FAILURE AND THE ENGINE WOULD BE REPLACED PRIOR TO RETURNING THE AIRCRAFT TO SERVICE. THIS INCIDENT (CE98IGO0007) IS CONSIDERED CLOSED WITH THE FILING OF THIS REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
