## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-16) THE PILOT EXPLAINED HE DEPARTED THE SALT LAKE CITY AIRPORT AND FLEW TO PROVO AIRPORT WHERE HE DID A TOUCH AND GO LANDING. AFTER APPLYING FULL POWER, LIFTING OFF, AND RETRACTING THE GEAR, THE ENGINE LOST POWER. THE PILOT STATED HE LOWERED THE NOSE AND SWITCHED FROM THE RIGHT MAIN FUEL TANK TO THE LEFT AUXILIARY TANK AND TRIED UNSUCCESSFULLY TO RESTART THE ENGINE. HE THEN LOWERED THE LANDING GEAR, BUT THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE RUNWAY PRIOR TO FULL GEAR EXTENSION. INSPECTION REVEALED THE LEFT MAIN TANK 7/8 FULL. LEFT AUXILIARY BELOW EMPTY, RIGHT MAIN 3/4 FULL AND RIGHT AUXILIARY BELOW EMPTY. ACTUAL INSPECTION/EVALUATION OF AIRCRAFT DAMAGE WAS ACCOMPLISHED BY AIRWORTHINESS INSPECTORS MAX T. MCARTHUR AND JOHN E. RICHTER AND OPERATIONS INSPECTOR ROBERT C. MCINTYRE WHO WERE ON-SITE ON RELATED BUSINESS.
