## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: DR. JACK ZORN DEPARTED TUSKEGEE, AL (06A) IN N2396C, A CE-182-R182, FOR A FLIGHT TO GLADWIN, MI (GDW). SHORTLY AFTER TAKE-OFF A PASSENGER BECAME ILL AND WAS VOMITING PROFUSELY. DR. ZORN DIVERTED TO SHELBY COUNTY AIRPORT, AL (21A) SO THE ILL PASSENGER COULD BE ATTENDED TO; HOWEVER, HE FORGOT TO LOWER HIS LANDING GEAR IN TIME FOR THE LANDING. HE REPORTED HE WAS DISTRACTED BY THE ILL PASSENGER WHICH CAUSED THIS OVERSIGHT. THE NOSE LANDING GEAR WAS ABLE TO CYCLE DOWN AND LOCK, BUT THE MAIN LANDING GEAR WAS UNABLE TO CYCLE TO A DOWN AND LOCK POSITION. NO ONE WAS INJURED AND THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE. DR. ZORN'S STATEMENT IS ATTACHED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
