## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: PILOT HAD DONE AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE ON THE ENGINE, AND WHILE FLYING IN THE TRAFFIC PATTERN GOT AN UNSAFE GEAR INDICATION ON THE NOSE GEAR. FLY-BYS INDICATE THAT THE GEAR APPEARED DOWN. UPON TOUCHDOWN, NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE NOSE COWL AND THE PROP. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. AIRWORTHINESS INSPECTOR R. SCHILLING, OF THE CHARLOTTE OFFICE LOOKED OVER THE AIRCRAFT TO CONFIRM THAT THE DAMAGE WAS MINOR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
