## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT-IN-COMMAND, WHO WAS THE SOLE OCCUPANT OF THE AIRCRAFT, WAS ENROUTE FROM LIBERTY, NC TO NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (CRE). THE ENGINE QUIT AND HE LANDED ON A DIRT ROAD IN A COTTON FIELD, 6 MILES NE OF CLIO, SC. HIS INTENDED POINT OF LANDING FOR FUEL WAS DILLON COUNTY AIRPORT, APPROXIMATELY 8 MILES SE. THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED, HOWEVER THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE. INVESTIGATION OF THE AIRCRAFT REVEALED THAT THE AIRCRAFT HAD RAN OUT OF FUEL.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
