## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

TRIED DEPART IN TALL GRASS ON SHORT STRIP. ABORTED LATE. SLED OFF END INTO BUSHES. FLOPPED OVER INTO A DITCH. (-23) AIRCRAFT ATTEMPTED A TAKE OFF FROM A 2600' GRASS RUNWAY. THE RUNWAY GRASS WAS MOIST AND ABOUT 12" TALL. THE AIRCRAFT ROTATED AT ABOUT THE 1/2 WAY POINT AND REMAINED IN GROUND EFFECT UNTIL SUCH TIME THAT THE TAKE OFF WAS ABORTED. THE REMAINING PORTION OF THE RUNWAY WAS INSUFFICIENT TO EFFECT COMPLETE STOPPAGE OF THE AIRCRAFT, WHICH OVERRAN THE END OF THE RUNWAY, STRUCK A SMALL TREE AND ENTERED A DRAINAGE DITCH CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO FLIP OVER. THE PILOT WAS COUNSELED AN OPERATIONAL TECHNIQUES REGARDING GRASS RUNWAYS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
