## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 30, 1997 AT APPROXIMATELY 1514 EST, A CONTINENTAL B-737, FLIGHT 1264, DIVERTED AND LANDED AT BUFFALO, NEW YORK WHILE ENROUTE FROM NEWARK, NJ TO TORONTO, CANADA. THE AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED A CRACK IN A HYDRAULIC LINE ON SYSTEM A AND THE LOSS OF NOSE WHEEL STEERING AFTER LANDING. MAINTENANCE REPAIRED AND REPLACED THE CRACKED LINE AND RETURNED THE AIRCRAFT TO SERVICE. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED AT BUFFALO, NEW YORK WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. THE AIRCRAFT WAS NOT DAMAGED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. INSTRUMENT METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME AND AN IFR FLIGHT PLAN WAS FILED. THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED AT EWR. THIS INCIDENT IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
