## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: PILOT REPORTED AN UNSAFE LANDING GEAR INDICATION ON APPROACH TO ANCHORAGE INT'L AIRPORT. I REVIEWED THE ANCHORAGE ATCT TAPES TO VERIFY THE INFORMATION GIVEN BY THE PILOT. HE IDENTIFIED HIMSELF AS A PA-31, LIFE GUARD N2VF. GROUND OBSERVERS AND TOWER PERSONNEL CONFIRMED THAT THE MAIN AND NOSE LANDING GEAR WERE VISIBLY IN THE DOWN POSITION. THE PILOT ACCEPTED LANDING INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE TOWER AND TOUCHED DOWN WITHOUT ANY FURTHER INCIDENT. I CHECKED THE OKLAHOMA REGISTRY AND FOUND THAT THE "N", N2VF WAS ASSIGNED TO A BE-95 OWNED BY A COMPANY IN HASKELL, OK. I CONTACTED THE REGISTERED OWNERS AND THEY CONFIRMED THAT N2VF WAS A BE-95 AND HAS NEVER BEEN IN ALASKA. I CONTACTED SOME OF THE PA-31 OPERATORS IN ANCHORAGE THAT DO LIFE GUARD WORK AND WAS UNSUCCESSFUL IN FINDING THE AIRCRAFT IN QUESTION. I WENT AND VISUALLY SEARCHED FOR THE AIRCRAFT WITH NO POSITIVE RESULTS. I AM RECOMMENDING CLOSURE OF THIS INCIDENT DUE TO THE UNAVAILABILITY OF THE AIRCRAFT AND ALSO THE FACT THAT IT LANDED WITH NO ADVERSE AFFECTS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
