## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: FOLLOWING TAKE OFF FROM HUSLIA, AK AT APPROX. 9000 FT. THE RIGHT ENGINE STARTED RUNNING ROUGH AND VIBRATING, THIS WAS FOLLOWED VERY SHORTLY BY A LOUD "BANG" AND POWER LOSS. THE ENGINE WAS SHUTDOWN, SMOKE AND OIL WERE EVIDENT BUT NO FIRE. THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO HUSLIA AND LANDED WITH NO FURTHER PROBLEMS. THERE WAS NO INJURY TO THE PILOT OR HIS ONE PASSENGER. THERE WAS NO STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. THE ENGINE WAS FOUND TO HAVE AN INTERNAL FAILURE, IS BEING REPLACED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
