## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON TUESDAY, DECEMBER 23, 1997 AT 1327 LOCAL, A BEECHCRAFT BE-1900-D, S/N UE-61, OPERATED BY CHAMPLAIN ENTERPRISES, INC., EXPERIENCED NO NOSE LANDING GEAR INDICATION, WHILE LANDING AT SYRACUSE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. THE AIRCRAFT DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND CRASH, FIRE AND RESCUE (CFR) EQUIPMENT WERE STANDING BY. MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL FOUND A DEFECTIVE NOSE GEAR DOWN LOCK SWITCH. THEY REMOVED AND REPLACED THE SWITCH AND RETURNED THE AIRCRAFT TO SERVICE. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME AND AN IFR FLIGHT PLAN WAS FILED. THE AIRCRAFT WAS NOT DAMAGED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THIS INCIDENT IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
