## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: THE INSTRUCTOR WAS GIVING THE OWNER AN INITIAL CHECK OUT IN HIS AIRCRAFT. DURING THE TAKEOFF CLIMB TO 500 FEET, THE PILOT REDUCED POWER AND THE AIRCRAFT ENGINE QUIT. THE PILOT ATTEMPTED AN EMERGENCY START, BUT COULD NOT RESTART THE ENGINE. A RIGHT TURN WAS INITIATED TOWARD AN OPEN FIELD. THE AIRCRAFT WAS LANDED WITH NO INJURIES. MINOR DAMAGE WAS DONE TO THE RIGHT WING AFTER THE NOSE GEAR SANK INTO THE MUD. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED WITH THIS REPORT. BASED ON INVESTIGATION OF THIS INCIDENT NONE OF THE FAA NINE RESPONSIBILITIES WERE IN NON-COMPLIANCE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
