## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB FTW98LA102](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/FTW98LA102), Jan 19, 1998: Martin Varieze (N27CP), Artesia, NM, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate compensation for the crosswind. Factors were the prevailing crosswind and the pilot's lack of total experience in type of aircraft.

## Other reports on N27CP (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19920508019779I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19920508019779I), May 8, 1992: Amtrru VARIEZELONG (N27CP), Carlsbad, NM, Minor damage. Engine quit after check-out for solo touch and go. Landing was hard and brakes locked. Nose gear collapsed.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
