## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AS A RESULT OF A TCAS/RA, UAL556 CLIMBED FROM ASSIGNED ALTITUDE OF FL290 TO FL29,600. THIS RESULTED IN A LOSS OF STANDARD SEPARATION WITH COA 148. CLOSEST PROXIMITY WAS 4.25 NM, 1400 FT. UAL 556 CAPTAIN OPINESTH, TCAS/RA WAS MOST LIKELY CAUSED BY THE HIGH RATE OF CLIMB BY ANOTHER AIRCRAFT, COA 1277, WHICH WAS CLIMBING TO FL280 AND HEAD-ON TO UAL 556.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
