## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT REPORTED THAT HE WAS DOING TOUCH AND GO LANDINGS TO THE DIRT TAXIWAY. THE HELICOPTER TOUCHED DOWN HARD AND LEFT SKID GOT STUCK IN THE MUD. THE PILOT THEN ATTEMPTED TO LIFTOFF, BUT THE HELICOPTER ROLLED ONTO ITS LEFT SIDE AND HE COULDN'T RECOVER FROM DYNAMIC ROLLOVER. (-23) SEE ATTACHED STATEMENT; NO NARRATIVE ATTACHED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX98LA083](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX98LA083), Jan 31, 1998: Robinson R22 (N2308X), Oxnard, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's improper use of the collective during the initiation of the rollover, which prevented the recovery from the condition.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
