## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: WHILE DURING CRUISE FLIGHT FROM SDL TO SEZ AT 7,500' MSL APPROXIMATELY 16 NM NORTH OF CAREFREE, THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE WENT TO "0". I TURNED 180 DEGREE AND THE PLANE RAN NORMALLY FOR APPROXIMATELY 17 NM. WHILE JUST SOUTH OF SKI RANCH AIRPORT, THE PLANE BEGAN TO SHUDDER WITH ABRUPT LOSS OF RPM. I SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE, SECURED THE PLANE, CIRCLED AND THEN LANDED AT SKY RANCH. OIL HAD COMPLETELY COATED THIS PLANE'S UNDERSIDE. ENGINE 1725 SMOH THREW A ROD CAUSING POWER LOSS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
