## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: WHILE ON THE APPROACH TO RUNWAY 9 AT THE PARIS, ILLINOIS AIRPORT, THE PILOT OPERATING N105CC, A PIPER PA-28, REPORTEDLY EXTENDED THE LANDING GEAR AND RECEIVED THE THREE DOWN AND LOCKED INDICATION AS REFERENCED BY THE GREEN LIGHT INDICATION. AT TOUCHDOWN, THE PILOT NOTED THAT THE GEAR UNSAFE LIGHT WAS FLICKERING. THE TOUCHDOWN WAS NORMAL IN THAT THE MAIN LANDING GEAR UNDER THE WINGS SETTLED ONTO THE PAVEMENT FIRST FOLLOWED BY THE NOSE SECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT HEARD THE PROPELLER STRIKING THE PAVEMENT AND THEN THE AIRCRAFT SETTLED ONTO ITS NOSE WHEEL COMPARTMENT INDICATING THAT THE NOSE GEAR WAS NOT SUPPORTING THE AIRCRAFT. THE PROPELLER WAS DAMAGED AND THE ENGINE STOPPED DURING THE EVENT. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST APPROXIMATELY 2000 FEET FROM THE END OF THE RUNWAY WITH THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR ON THE GRASS BORDERING THE RUNWAY. ONLY THE PILOT WAS ONBOARD THE AIRCRAFT AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT AND SUSTAINED NO INJURIES. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED WITH THIS REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
