THE AIRCRAFT SALVAGE CREW WHO RECOVERED THE AIRCRAFT REPORTED THAT THEY FOUND 3 GALLONS OF FUEL IN THE AIRCRAFT'S LEFT WING TANK AND NO FUEL IN THE RIGHT WING TANK (THE AIRCRAFT HAS A 33-GALLON TANK IN EACH WING, OF WHICH 6.5 GALLONS IN EACH TANK IS UNUSABLE.) (-23)AIRCRAFT WAS MANEUVERING FOR LAST FEW PASSES DURING AERIAL APPLICATION, WHEN ENGINE LOST POWER. DURING FORCED LANDING, AIRCRAFT RECEIVED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. NO INJURIES TO PILOT. ## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA98LA054](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA98LA054), Mar 13, 1998: Snow 600-S2C (N1640S), Bickleton, WA, destroyed. Probable cause: The pilot's mismanagement of the fuel which led to fuel exhaustion. A related factor was unsuitable terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
