## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON MARCH 14, 1998, AT APPROXIMATELY 1515 PST, A CHALLENGER 2, AMATEUR/HOMEBUILT AIRCRAFT, N95CG WAS DOWNWIND AT 1300 FT AND ATTEMPTED TO LAND AT SOUTH COUNTY AIRPORT (Q99), SAN MARTIN, CA. WHILE ATTEMPTING THIS LANDING, THERE APPEARED TO BE A PROPELLER FAILURE. ONE BLADE OF THE WOODEN PROPELLER EXPERIENCED A DELIMITATION CAUSING EXTREME VIBRATION. THE ENGINE WAS SHUT DOWN AND AN OFF FIELD LANDING WAS MADE WITH MINOR DAMAGE TO THE NOSE STRUT. THERE WAS NO INJURY TO THE PILOT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
