## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON 03/19/98, MR. JEFFREY COUNTER WAS THE PILOT IN COMMAND OF N525GA, A BEECH B60. MR. COUNTER WENT ON A TEST FLIGHT WITH MR. DON SEBASTIAN, THE MECHANIC FOR A PROSPECTIVE BUYER OF THE AIRCRAFT. PRIOR TO THE FLIGHT, MR. SEBASTIAN HAD THE OUTBOARD COWLINGS OPENED INSPECTING THE ENGINES FOR EXHAUST AND OIL LEAKS. DURING THE FLIGHT MR. SEBASTIAN WANTED TO DIVE N525GA AT ITS RED LINE SPEED TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY UNUSUAL VIBRATIONS. UPON REACHING 180 KNOTS, N525GA SHOOK VIOLENTLY. THE DIVE WAS DISCONTINUED, N525GA FLEW NORMALLY BUT THE TEMPERATURE OF THE LEFT ENGINE HAD INCREASED ABOUT 70 DEGREES. THE FUEL MIXTURE WAS ENRICHED AND N525GA LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. AFTER LANDING IT WAS NOTICED THE COWLING WAS MISSING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
