## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

UNSAFE GEAR LIGHT. DID FLY BY APPEARED TO BE DOWN. LT GEAR COLLAPSED DUE FAULTY ORINGS ALLOWED FLUID TO BY PASS. (.4)THE PILOT SMELLED A FRAGRANCE SIMILAR TO SOLVENT IN CRUISE FLIGHT. A SHORT TIME LATER, THE GEAR WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED, WENT OUT, REPEATED THE SEQUENCE, AND THEN REMAINED ON CONTINUOUSLY. THE TOWER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE SITUATION AND A FLYBY WAS CONDUCTED. ATTEMPTS TO LOWER ALL THREE LANDING GEAR WITH A SAFE GEAR INDICATION WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. ON LANDING ROLLOUT THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED. EXAMINATION REVEALED THAT THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR WOULD NOT FULLY EXTEND. THE O-RINGS IN THE HYDRAULIC CYLINDER FAILED, AND HYDRAULIC FLUID HAD LEAKED OUT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
