## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

UNABLE FLYING SPEED ON TAKEOFF FROM WET GRASS RWY. ABORTED LATE. RAN OFF END BOUNCED ACCROSS ROAD NOSED OVER. (-23) JULIS HAGEN, THE PILOT, ATTEMPTED TO TAKE OFF ON A PRIVATE GRASS STRIP 30 MINUTES AFTER IT HAD RAINED. PILOT STATED HE HAD EXPERIENCED DRAG DUE TO THE WET FIELD. HE ELECTED TO ABORT THE TAKE OFF, BUT HAD TOO MUCH SPEED TO STOP AT THE END OF THE RUNWAY, HIT A ROAD EMBANKMENT AND BOUNCED INTO THE AIR. AIRCRAFT CAME DOWN ON THE NOSE GEAR AND FLIPPED OVER, RESTING ON ITS BACK. INTERVIEWED PILOT AND PASSENGER AND THEY STATED THAT THEY WERE NOT INJURED. NO MECHANICAL DIFFICULTIES WERE NOTED BY THE PILOT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB MIA98LA136](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/MIA98LA136), Apr 19, 1998: Cessna 150M (N63582), Lumber Bridge, NC, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's delay in aborting a takeoff from a wet grass runway.
