## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: THE STUDENT PILOT WAS RETURNING FROM A CROSS COUNTY FLIGHT AND LOST DIRECTIONAL CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT AFTER TOUCHDOWN. HE VEERED OFF RUNWAY 29R AND CAME TO REST IN THE DIRT. THE CROSS LOADING OF THE LANDING GEAR CAUSED THE LEFT MAIN GEAR TO COLLAPSE WHICH IN TURN CAUSED THE LEFT WING TIP, PROPELLER AND UNDER AREA OF THE TAIL SECTION TO MAKE CONTACT WITH THE GROUND. THE PILOT WAS NOT INJURED AND THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE. WEATHER CONDITIONS WERE VMC WITH A LIGHT CROSS WIND. I CONTACTED THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR WHO IS ALSO THE OWNER OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE STUDENT HAS THE PROPER SIGN OFF TO OPERATE THIS AIRCRAFT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ CONSIDERING THIS FACTOR, I HAVE ELECTED TO NOT TAKE ANY FURTHER ACTION AGAINST THE STUDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
