## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT EXPERIENCED LOSS OF ENGINE POWER AT AN ALTITUDE OF 2000FEET. CONTACTED SNA ATCT AND REQUESTED CLEARANCE FOR EMERGENCY LANDING. PILOT COULD NOT MAINTAIN ALTITUDE AND LANDED AT MILE SQUARE PARK ON CLOSED DOWN MILITARY RUNWAY. NO DAMAGE TO PILOT OR AIRCRAFT. INSPECTION OF #2 CYLINDER PLUGS INDICATED MECHANICAL FAILURE OF THE ENGINE. SUBSEQUENT INSPECTION REVEALED #2 INTAKE VALVE FAILURE. OWNER WILL SUBMIT M OR D REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
