## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

FLOATED LANDING. TRIED GO AROUND NOSE HIGH. STALLED. VERTICAL IMPACT ENSUED. CRASHED IN RESIDENTIAL DRIVEWAY. (.4) THE PILOT WAS IN HIS UP-WIND CLIMB, HAVING REJECTED HIS LANDING, WHEN THE AIRPLANE SUDDENLY NOSED DOWN FROM AN ALTITUDE OF ABOUT 100 FEET, AGL, AND IMPACTED THE TERRAIN IN A NEARLY VERTICAL ATTITUDE. THE SURVIVING RIGHT SEAT PASSENGER STATED HE REMEMBERS LITTLE ABOUT THE INCIDENT, BUT FELT THE LOSS OF CONTROL WAS NOT A MALFUNCTION OF THE AIRPLANE. POST CRASH EXAMINATION OF THE ENGINE, AIRFRAME, AND FLIGHT CONTROLS CONFIRMED THIS. GRAFFO A PASSENGER AND THE ONLY OTHER OCCUPANT STATED THAT HE WAS LOOKING OUTSIDE THE AIRCRAFT WHEN THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED. HE STATED HE SAW BLUE OF SKY THEN SUDDENLY THE GROUND WAS COMING UP.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
