## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

STRUCK POWER LINES ON A SPRAY RUN. LINES HARD TO SEE. NO MARKERS WIDE SPACED POLES. (.4)WHILE ENGAGED IN SPRAYING PESTICIDE OVER RYE GRASS ALONG A RURAL ROAD, THE GRUMMAN 'AGCAT' BIPLANE IMPACTED SEVERAL POWER/PHONE LINES WHICH THE PILOT REPORTED HE DID NOT SEE. THE LINES WERE UNMARKED. THE POWER POLES SUPPORTING THE LINES WERE APPROXIMATELY 1,000 FEET APART AND THE CATENARY WOULD HAVE BEEN NEAR ITS LOW POINT IN THE VICINITY OF THE CROSSING POINT (DIAGONALLY) OVER THE ROAD. (-23)AIRCRAFT STRUCK POWERLINES DURING SPARY RUN AND SUBSEQUENTLY CRAHSED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA98LA095](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA98LA095), Jun 12, 1998: Grumman-Schweizer G-164B (N8252K), Starbuck, WA, destroyed. Probable cause: The pilot-in-command's failure to maintain adequate visual lookout. A contributing factor was the unmarked transmission lines.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
