## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ACFT RAN OFF THE RWY AND STRUCK TREES AFTER ENCOUNTERING A STRONG GUST OF WIND ON TAKEOFF. (.4)ACCORDING TO THE PILOT, DURING THE TAKEOFF ROLL, THE WINDS SHIFTED TO A POINT WHERE THE AIRCRAFT WAS ENCOUNTERING A DIRECT CROSSWIND OF 10 TO 20 KNOTS. UPON ENCOUNTERING THE CROSSWIND, THE AIRCRAFT DRIFTED TOWARD THE EDGE OF THE RUNWAY, AND THE PILOT ELECTED TO ABORT THE TAKEOFF. DURING THE ABORT, THE PILOT WAS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN DIRECTIONAL CONTROL, AND THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE RUNWAY. AFTER DEPARTING THE RUNWAY, THE AIRCRAFT CROSSED A 100 FOOT GRASS AREA AND IMPACTED A STAND OF TREES. (-23) ACCORDING TO THE PILOT, AS SHE STARTED HER TAKEOFF ROLL, THE WINDS SHIFTED SO THAT SHE WAS ENCOUNTERING A 10 TO 20 KNOT CROSSWIND. AS SHE CONTINUED THE TAKEOFF, THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO DRIFT TOWARD THE SIDE OF THE RUNWAY, AND THE PILOT DECIDED TO ABORT THE TAKEOFF. DURING THE ATTEMPTED ABORT, THE PILOT WAS UNABLE TO COMPENSATE FOR THE CROSSWINDS, AND THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE RUNWAY AND IMPACTED SOME NEARBY TREES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
